Hello Neighbors,

The Marlboro Select Board is looking to fill various important positions on many of the Town’s Commissions and Committees.  One important vacancy is for the position as the town representative (Trustee) to Rescue, Inc.

Other openings are discussed below:

While many of you are probably familiar with the Town’s Planning Commission, and Development Review Board, however there are two commissions that can provide interested residents with a real opportunity to contribute to the Town’s vibrancy and well-being.  Also, the position as the town representative (Trustee) to Rescue, Inc. is also open.

The Energy and Conservation Commissions are both looking for active participants to mold them and create a direction for them to go in.  Both commissions are at a point where they could be given new priorities and begin work on making Marlboro a better place.

For instance:

“What situations have or might arise that will cause damage to the Town’s current ecological stability?”

“What impact is the growth of the Town having on the lakes, streams and water table?”

“How can the Town achieve the goals set out by the State of Vermont for reduction of carbon emissions?”

“How to effectively, safely, and environmentally implement the use of Solar Power and arrays while maintaining as much land as possible for agricultural use?”

These are just a few areas the Energy and Conservation Commissions can explore and working with other Town Commissions such as the Planning Commission take Marlboro to the next level in handling the issues facing our Town.

As of this writing these Commissions are ready to accept new appointments by the Select Board, all that is needed are interested residents ready to take up the reins and make a difference.

If you are interested or would like some additional information, please contact the Select Board at marlboroselectboard@gmail.com .

Thank you very much and we look forward to hearing from you.
